Alexandra Busgang: The Anthropologie of Water: Slippage, 2012
The wind that scoops your neck
and ties around your ankles.
It is so much bigger
than this room,
the air mouthing the words.
A horizon of porcelain
curving around water
cold water that doesn’t shine
with the sparkle of the tap
where it leaks.
A room of unfamiliar ways.
The singing of rational songs
with rusted voices
and persuasions
of all different kinds of melodies
ringing through the reasons
singing their praises
and nailing their heads
further down through the skin.
